Martin Mere 2010

Whooper Swans at Martin MereMartin Mere is a Widlife and Wetlands Reserve near Southport in Lancashire. The reason for a visit in January is to see the thousands of Whooper Swans (pictured) that have over-wintered, along with the thousands of Pink-footed Geese that fly in at dusk - a truly remarkable sight.

Our day brought us 47 secies with six new to the group (shown in italics).
