Bempton Cliffs 2009
Although we only recorded 32 species on this visit, 12 of which were new to the birders tick list (shown in italics), this visit was more to do with quantity as the sea cliffs were covered in thousands of nesting birds. It was good to see a few Puffins (sadly declining in numbers) but the nesting Gannets were fantastic.
Pictured below are the Gannet Rock nest site, some Gannets with a rather ungainly chick, and a Guillemot and Bridled Guillemot for comparison.
