Churches Together Ilkley Logo

Christchurch is a member of Churches Together in Ilkley (CTI). The other members of CTI are Ben Rhydding Methodist Church, the three Anglican Churches of All Saints (http://ilkleypc.co.uk/), St John's Ben Rhydding (www.benrhydding.org.uk) and St Margaret's, the Baptist Church, the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church (sacredheartilkley.wordpress.com) and the Society of Friends, and the Discovery Church (Assemblies of God).

The clergy meet together regularly. There are occasional CTI United Services, exchanges of pulpits and open air acts of worship such as the Sunrise Service at Easter on the Cow and Calf Rocks and the Walk of Witness on Good Friday. The churches work closely with the Parish Council to arrange civic events such as the Remembrance Day service and Christmas Carols on the Grove.

CTI encourages dialogue with ethical and religious issues through open meetings with guest speakers and organised a hustings debate just before the 2015 General Election.

Children’s Holiday Clubs
The King's Club is an annual holiday club run by the Churches Together in Ilkley every August for 5 to 11 years olds. Each year it takes a different theme to teach children about Jesus. It meets for a week every morning (10-12 noon) with a celebration for all the family on the Friday at 12 noon. A different church hosts it each year.  Also, a new initiative is the Holiday Club at the Hollygarth Social Club aimed at the same age group at the end of August.

Lent
Over the years, CTI has organised ecumenical housegroups or a series of linked talks during the Lent period.  In 2016, CTI will promote Lent events in local churches to encourage Christians to worship and learn from different traditions.
