Our Worship

We seek to make our worship relevant to today's changing situations, supporting our congregations in their everyday lives whilst encouraging meaningful worship of our great God. We have a variety of styles of worship at Christchurch.

On Sunday at 9:00am, we have a contemporary, all-age, all-stage, child-friendly, interactive service.  We try to ensure songs are from this century and usually have a small music group with drummer to accompany us. More often than not we have a period where we break into discussion groups.

Ten Thirty
Later in the morning at 10:30am our preaching service seeks to be prayerful, reflective and relevant, and includes communion on the first Sunday of each month.

Evening Services
Our evening services are now irregular, although when we do meet it is at 6:00pm.
On the second Sunday of each month we join with churches within the new Methodist Circuit meeting at different churches around the Circuit.
At other times, worship in the style of Taize, or Healing services are held. Please check the Calendar or Weekly Notices to see is such a service is upcoming.
Members of Christchurch lead services at some of the local residential homes during the early evening and all are welcome to share in these worship times.

Shoppers Service
Friday morning sees a short 20 minute service for those who wish to have a break from their shopping, or for whom Friday is a convenient time to worship.

Special Services
Of course, our church is happy to support those looking for a baptism, wedding or funeral, and these can be arranged within our Sunday services or at other times.

Audio Visual Support
We make use of projectors for song words, and additional visual presentations, with a sound system and loop.
